Hey everybody! So I thought I would share these few images with you all. It's from a recent Look book project I did with The Shine Project. It was such a fun experience to be a part of the team and the cause, and yes the carmel apples where just as delicious as they look. Head on over to Ashely's blog to see more photos from the shoot!
I also wanted to share with you my list of 10 ways to live a happy and positive life.

1. Love Yourself
This is a huge one, and can be challenge in a world where there is constantly so much around us that is telling us not to love ourselves unconditionally. This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson reminds me to be myself always: “To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
To love yourself truly can be such an amazing accomplishment and can better you in so many ways. When you love yourself you can love others. Loving those around you and sharing your compassion is essential for a whole hearted life. People are not always going to like you, that's okay!!

2. Be Open-Minded
Being open-minded has been a huge asset in my life, and growth. I left the United States when I was nine years old, and traveled all over the world for the majority of my life. This taught me to be open-minded very quickly. Not everything was the way I thought it should be, and I had to be opened to new ideas, and the general difference I was experiencing on a daily basis. I promise you when you are open minded and not always stuck on your point, and your own ideas/options, life becomes a lot more interesting, and a lot more enjoyable.

3. Live in the Moment
The moment is where we are supposed to be. Living in the past or future can be unhealthy and obsessive. Nobody is perfect at this but this is a good practice. Be mindful, try to see the things you are doing "now" in the moment enjoy all that is happening around you.

4. A Positive Outcome is just as Likely as a Negative One

A lot of people think that something bad will always happen, it can also become a very bad habit to think of the negative before the positive. Take some time today to stop yourself and ask what good can come of this rather than always assuming the worse. You will be pleasantly surprised with the outcome and how much your stress can and will drop.

5. Be Yourself, Everyone Else is Already Taken

I love this saying. Really, everyone else is taken, so stop trying to be someone your not. You are beautiful just the way you are. There is a reason why there is no one else like you. You are unique, and serve a special place in this world. The people that love you will love you exactly for who you are not what they think you should be.

6. Perfection is Imperfection

I know you all have probably heard this before, but truly so many of us strive for perfection and we are killing ourself trying to be perfect. Be the best you, and that all that matters. Nobody is 'perfect', but we can see ourselves as perfect just the way we are. Our imperfections give us our quarks and uniqueness.

7. Don't Compare
Comparing is not relevant. If we are all unique and different, why would we take the time out of our day to compare ourselves. Comparing just leads to negative thoughts and amplified insecurities. We come up with this unrealistic expectations of what we should be like. Also we don't know the full story of anyones life, that we look at from the outside. We don't know what people have been through. So comparing ourselves to something that we see is false and made up mostly of assumptions.

8. Take Life One Day at a Time

Take it one day at a time. Try not to project or be worried about tomorrow or the next day. All we have is today and this moment. If our mind is someone else we are wasting the present moment.

9. Give to Others

Giving and being of service to others is the most rewarding thing you can do. Every time you help another person it makes a difference. Even if you may not think so it does. If everyone did  this. The world would be a better place.
Happiness is best when shared. You can make a difference!

10. Be Grateful

I recommend writing a gratitude list at the end of each day, write three things that you are grateful for. Everyone has something to be grateful for, even at the most challenging of times. Writing a gratitude list forces you to look deeper at the things that you are thankful for. As small as they may be, being gracious and grateful keeps you happy.  There is always something, and the small things are just important as the ones you see as big.

Connect with the people around you. Those who love you, and love you. Connection is what makes us human, and what makes the world go around.

I hope everyone enjoyed these little tips, try some, I promise they help!
